Antique Military Pin 14th New York Volunteer Infantry Company L
Antique military pin for company L of the 14th New York volunteer infantry.
The 14th was made up of men mainly from Oneida county and the surrounding areas.
An article on wikipedia shows some of the battles these volunteers served in during the civil war included the Seven Days Battles near Richmond, Beaver Creek Dam, Gaines Mill, Battle Of Malvern Hill, Antietam and the Battle Of Fredericksburg.
As a quick search I could not find any information on C.F. Jaster so more research may be needed by the person that adds this piece to their Civil War collection.
Engraved on the from of the shield shape badge is Co L, C. F. Jaster, 14 N.Y. Vol.
There are no markings on the reverse to indicate who made this medal.
