Mexican Sterling Silver Parrot Brooch Mixed Metals Taxco Eagle Mark 3
This vintage mid 20th century Mexican Sterling silver brooch made in Taxco, Mexico features an abstract head of a Parrot created in sterling silver and a brass tongue with chip inlay decoration.
Approximately 2 x 1 1/2 inches.
Signed on the reverse with the artist initials of APB surrounded by sterling - 925 -Taxco.
The Eagle mark is not completely clear but appears to be an Eagle 3
For anyone not familiar with vintage Mexican silver jewelry, the Eagle make was a registration mark assigned to workshops in Mexico from 1948 to 1970 and was used on all silver for export and was a guarantee of the fineness of the silver used.
