Vintage Native American Pendant Sterling Silver By Navajo Allen Barney
Created by Navajo artist Allen Barney this Native American Indian sterling silver pendant is set with an inlay of black onyx as well as tan and reddish brown jaspers
1 11/16 inches long with the bail x 1/2 inch wide.
Signed on the reverse in capital letters BARNEY and in script letters Sterling.
Navajo silversmith Allen Barney is still active but I believe this is a vintage inlay pendant he created in the 1990's. An article written in the Los Angeles Times about Barney's work in 1997 discusses how he was then currently working in browns, tans and blacks which was a departure from his work with Turquoise and Coral.
The inlay work on this pendant is well made and the style of the work makes this a wonderfull look even for someone that normally would not wear Native American jewelry.
