Vintage Navajo Coin Silver Button Cover With Stamp Work
This vintage 1950's to 1960's silver button cover was made from an old silver coin and although the silversmith filed the edge of this piece if you look at the photos you can still see some of the reeded edge from the original coin unlike the modern ones that are made from sheet silver.
This button cover which measures approximately 20.58 to 20.98mm in diameter was most likely made from a U.S dime size coin.
The attachment on the back was glued in place so it would be easy to remove if you wanted to convert this great old piece into a pendant or other type of jewelry but as a button cover it would look great on the top button of a dress shirt or blouse.
Vintage Native American Indian jewelry is very collectible and since these pieces were handmade each one is unique.
